On the natural front the First Landing State Park provides visitors with both accommodation and a front-row seat to its unique combination of lagoons, cypress trees and rare plants. The most visited State Park in Virginia, First Landing offers 19 miles of hiking trails and guided kayak tours through its marshes and bays. Another wonderful nature reserve is the False Cape State Park. This 4,321-acre area lies on a mile-wide barrier spit between Back Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
