Virginia Beach Things To Do

virginia beach things to doVirginia Beach is one of the East Coast's most well known seaside resorts. Every year more than 5.4 million tourists make it their destination of choice. For families in particular this oceanfront town is ideal, as there is lots to do and see.

Virginia Beach is home to everything from nature parks to historical sites. Take in a military air show, see a big-name act live at the Amphitheater, or cycle, stroll, rollerblade along the 40-blocks of renovated boardwalk. Truly, the heart of the city, the Boardwalk is lined with outdoor cafes, a fishing pier, parks, sculptures and concert stages that feature nightly entertainment. These stages see more than their fair share of activity during the Beach's many large festivals. One in particular, Beachstreet U.S.A, is Virginia Beach's own version of Mardi Gras. Held during the summer months this free annual event features live street musicians and performances.

Virginia Beach also boasts a wide array of dining opportunities, many of which prominently feature seafood among their offerings. Chick's Oyster Bar, on the waterfront is a regular local favorite, serving up delicious crab cakes, fish, sandwiches and, of course, oysters. Other popular spots include the Southwestern Coyote Cafe & Cantina, the Italian restaurant Aldos and Steinhilber's.
